Hi Dakkaheadz,

I'm currently working on my new Army: The Grey Knights. I got my models fluff and style based.

Here's what I'm currently rolling (going to roll) but didn't have the chance to play with yet - please give me suggestions and tips on how I can improve my list without investing too much money in new models and stuff, going for 1.000 points for now.

Current 915 points:

1 HQ
- Grandmaster
- Force Halberd
- - - > 180 Pt

1 Elite
Vindicare-Assassin
- - - > 145 Pt

2 Standard
(Strike Squad)
4 Grey Knights
- 1 x Psycannon
1 Justicar with Daemonhammer

+ Razorback
- Twin-linked heavy bolter
- Psiactive ammunition
- - - > 170 Punkte

6 Terminators
- 3 x Force swords
- 3 x Force halberds
- 1 x Incinerator
1 Justicar with Daemonhammer
- - - > 285 Pt

1 Heavy Support
Dreadnought
- Twin-linked Autocannon
- Twin-linked Autocannon
- Psiactive ammunition
- - - > 135 Pt

Total points: 915

I got 2 Paladins, 1 with Daemonhammer and one with force sword ready for use. - The assassin, razorback and dreadnought I'm currently planning to buy.

Thanks for your help! =)

Edit: adjusted to guidlines..

The Twilight Zone

The main thing I see is hammers on your justicars...which is a bad idea. Going last in a challenge means getting killed before you strike, even in terminator armor. Give sarges halbreds, and keep a hammer hidden in the unit as a contingency.

GM is best with just the sword to get the free 3++ in melee. Makes em damn hard to kill. Consider grabbing some grenades as well. Blind grenades are a steal for their effect, rad grenades and psychotroke grenades are also pretty fantastic. Last but not least, an incinerator wastes his good BS, but it is dirt cheap and dead effective.

You can throw in a solodin to fill the rest of the points.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Well, at this point level, I'd go for an Inquisitor possibly Corteaz and add another Psyback with Acolyths. But this is probably not the route you wanna go.
As you don't own the Assassin, I'd postpone its purchase when you aim for a higher pt list.

thanks for the fast feedback!

no hammers on justicars - check.

well i was thinking 4++ for my GM would be enough and i'd rather take the +2 ini

i was thinking to maybe add an inquisitor in power armor to fill my strike squad - if you do not totally disagree with this idea in terms of effectiveness - how to equip him?

and isn't the assassin just right in lower games as the opponent will also have lesser targets to assassinate?

ok I just got a dreadnought without autocannons for free, he's equipped with the standard multi-melter and "nemesis-type-dreadnouhgt-cc-weapon" (edit: with stormbolter)

how to use him effectively? run towards enemy vehicles, hope to not die until i can reach it with the melter?
