Just finishing off a stormtalon and decided to masking tape then spray the canopy, this has gone well however the clear parts of the plastic are now really tacky with the residue off the tape.

Any ideas how to get rid of this without damaging the paint or plastic?
Thanks!

The only thing that comes to mind is carefully heating the piece with a hair dryer, then using a second piece of tape to dab onto the glue to pick it up.

What kind of tape did you use?

Thanks that helped the big bits, then it was wife to the rescue, warm water and a tea towel was the answer. It what she does with the sticky label on new dishes!

It was just normal diy store masking tape, next time I invest in frog tape!

Yup, I was going to say that a new tape would be a good investment. For big stuff the blue painting tape you find at the hardware store is great. I also like the rice-paper tape that Tamiya sell for small stuff.

Tamiya masking tape for anything in contact with the model. Use paper for screening and regular tape on that.

Has anyone tried frog tape for this?

Frog Tape is great too, very low adhesion. I would use the Tamiya masking tape though, it is easier to work with..
