ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."
Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

Not a genre that I'm personally interested in, but it looks like it'll be intreresting for those who are.
It certainly seems to be a good time for 40k video games right now, Games Workshop is being very generous with the IP.

Wow. That looks.... boring. I mean, they don't even show the puppy-marine fighting anything other than a reskinned version of himself. It looks very lazy.

I imagine this is the result of Dark Millennium's failure and cancellation. A lack of faith in big-budget, "proper" titles in favour of small, quick-buck titles.
Of course, whoever made that decision based on ONE GAME needs a slap in the face with:
Shadow of the Horned Rat
Dawn of War
Winter Assault
Dark Crusade
Soulstorm
Dawn of War 2
Chaos Rising
Retribution
Space Marine
...as well as Planetside 2, for good measure.

Or it's the result of THQ's failure and subsequent dissolution.
Seriously. Even if "Dark Millenium" was in the alpha stages, any company which acquired it is still going to have a ton of work to do to ensure that they're not simply releasing whatever crap the studio previously had deemed 'fit for release'.
Look at Battlefront 3 as an example. Remember how a Pandemic employee kept saying that there was a "fully playable game out there somewhere"?
If that were remotely true, then why has it not been released?

Might be decent but I would really prefer if relic released either Space Marine 2 or Dawn of War 3. :(

Call me an Ultrasmurf one more time, I dare you.
The Emperor of Mankind wages a constant battle to protect humanity from the horrors of space. All that stand in their way are the mighty Space Marines. They are more than mortal, they are steel and they are doom. They are the champions of mankind. And the GREATEST, MOST BADASS of them all, are the ULTRAMARINES.
In honor of Captain Titus of the Ultramarines' 2nd Company, an ultramarine unlike any other - may none find him wanting for his name shall forever live in glory, till the end of days.
Titus understood that the Codex Astartes is merely a set of rules, that it is supposed to guide young initiates of the Ultramarines, to inspire honor and sacrifce amongst them. He was also aware of how blindly some of his brothers followed the said set of rules, refusing to think for themselves thus consequently failing the true test of a Space Marine. He understood, better than anyone, that Ultramarines are not without flaws and that after all they are still human in a way. While he knew all that, he also knew that despite all their imperfections, they were the humanity's only hope for survival. |
