So I was wondering if anyone had any idea on hoe to do beach bases? I'm looking to give the bases a very smooth beach theme, so I was thinking of going for this sort of impression.

Yeah, smooth sand is one of the easiest bases to do. Also rather boring (although adding some footprints/shells/driftwood might jazz them up a little?)

Or did you mean you want waves as well? That would be rather harder.

Yeah, come over for a holiday and take some sand home as a souvenir! I think painting the water with wet effects/gloss varnish and using snow flock for foam would do the job.

Personally, I use shell grit from the pet store to make a slightly rougher beach effect on my nids.
