So i bought some metallic spray paint at walmart to base my necrons, but after i put some color on the models and then try to touch it up ( boltgun metal, or chainmail) i find that they are too dark of a color to use, and cant figure out which might be the best fit without buying tons of new paint. The one i got is http://www.walmart.com/ip/Krylon-Indoor-Outdoor-Metallic-Silver/17211037
any suggestions of a gw paint that would match that?

GW has four silver paints, as far as I know - Ironbreaker, Leadbelcher (foundation/base), Runefang Steel, and Necron Compound (drybrushing goop). Runefang, being the new Mithril, is the lightest one, but I'm not sure if even that would match your color. Looks like the best bet, at least.

Yeah I went and bought all four and their too dark. I'll have to see if I can mix some clors. Thanks

Why does it have to be GW though. I don't believe that GW has good metalic paints, there are much better paints on the market for metalics.

It doesnt have to be GW, ive tried craft store colors, or model car paints and i cant find a matching color. Plus figured if i just asked for a matching color to something it might sound a bit rude. But if you have any suggestions where i might check that would be great.

Traditionally GW actually make probably the best set of metallic paints. Vallejo Air being a close second.
As to the OP, you could try using a black wash or a series of black washes over the primed model and then touch up after that.
It should darken down the primer coat enough to match easier.
