Hello Dakka!

This blog will follow my raising of the Petrostok 112th "Besiegers" regiment, and I will try and update it regularly in the hope that it keeps me motivated!

The 112th are expert city fighters, and are thrust into the breach under the "cover" of indiscriminate artillery fire to seek out their foes within the walls of their own cities and fortresses. These are the basic ideas for this project:

Lots of Infantry - Expendable, each equipt with a respirator system for fumes and dust from buildings, carry extra supplies for extended battles within cities. They consist of Petrostok's lower classes.

Artillery - The real punch behind the regiments, to pound the cities to dust whilst the enemy are hunted by foot soldiers

Command Staff - Remain back with the artillery, consist of the Higher Class (Wayward Sons of Nobles, Mining Moguls etc.), positions often bought rather than earned.

I could write out a massive paragraph about my detailed background for these chaps, but perhaps another time, it's late

Now, to business!

I have my first infantry platoon on it's way, but these arrived first:

Armoured Lascannon Sentinels! I Picked these up for a bargain on eBay. I gave them a quick spray of Chaos Black and got to work for the evening...

...and produced this! Bear in mind that these are still very much WIP, there's various things to be done, but so far I'm relatively pleased

Meet Darya and Tanya. The pilots named them so because they're reminiscent of Petrostovian Women; Long legged, agile, and can pack a punch

As I said before, there's a lot still to be done and redone, like rough freehand and such. I'm the first to admit I'm not a fantastic painter, so C&C are more than welcome! Next time I'll update with these guys possibly finished, and hopefully a platoon of infantry to begin working on.

Thanks for reading!

Yay! I finally have some Guardsmen together. Unfortunately, they will end up as little more than meatshields. Life is cruel sometimes.

I took these outside (a strange new place I've discovered), and the lighting is much better I think But my camera wouldn't bloody focus properly, so some of them are a little blurred. Blast!

Squad 1 - (Both are as of yet unnamed, and the group shot came out awful!)

Squad 2

And a mortar team, the first of three...

I used a mix of Pig Iron's Winter and Command Militia heads, they are awesome. I highly recommend Pig Iron for any Guard heads, they're all brilliant! Oh, and the backpacks are Victoria Miniatures Chem packs, also a brilliant source of Guard-ey (Guard-ish? Guard-esque?) stuff.

Can't wait to get some paint on these guys! I'm back to school as of tomorrow though, farewell hobby time But on the upside, it's my last year, and I feel like an Inquisitor with my newly bestowed Prefect powers, *Evil Laugh*. (I think there are rules against Exterminatus, though).

Good to see another IG blog!

Keep up your motivation as much as you can during a demanding school year. We'll try not to demand too much progress since most of us are painting pretty slowly now too.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.
