I've spent a lot of time thinking about this list and trying to optimise it. However i have reached a plateau and need some help.

The list is
Farsight 165
5x Bodyguard, 5x Gun drone 405
2 suits with 2x fusion blaster & target lock, 2 suits with plasma rifles & target lock, 1 suits with drone controller, MSSS, C&Cn and NWJ

Ethereal 50

Firewarriors (10) Pulse rifles 90
Firewarriors (9 + shas'ui) Rifles 100
Firewarriors (9 + shas'ui) Rifles 100

Riptide 210 Ion accelerator, TL fusions, EWO and VC
Riptide 210 Ion accelerator, TL fusions, EWO and VC

Pathfinders (5) 55
Pathfinders (5) 55

Hammerhead 190 Ion cannon, SMS, Longstrike, Disrup pods, Sensor spines
Broadsides (2 + Shas'vre) 220 HIgh yield missiles/SMS and EWO

Total 1850(ish)

i'm not sold on longstrike or the ethereal, whilst the ethereal might add something i'm not convinced longstirke is worth the points.
I'm also not sure about my riptides being my anti-flyer platforms anymore (since i reread ripplefire).

any suggestions?

Ion Accelerators are pretty Poor AA. HBCs, even non Nova Charged, are better against almost all flyers especially AV10/11. Only AV12 non Nova is a problem, the Non Nova HBC does marginally more HP Damage vs AV12 but cannot Penetrate. Nova Charged the HBC outperforms the IA easily.

The best Riptide AA by far is the Earth Caste Pilot Array HBC. If that is off the table I think you are better running at least one of your Riptides as an HBC for AA.

Also, the same holds true for FMCs, MCs.

I feel swapping an ion for a HBC is a bit iffy though I'm willing to give it a try.

Keep the TL Fusion Blaster, its the best option.

Give it a try, it should perform well. About the only target you'll miss the IA is against groups of Infantry, against any single target it will do well.
