getting into 40K for the first time. as of now I'm going to be subbing all my units with star wars miniatures. I want to field a new army and money is tight.
my current list is
a spirit seer

two warlocks

10 guardians

five rangers

wraithguard (5) 160

one wraithlord with two shuriken cannons. 150

and two vypers each with an upgrade eldar missile launcher 130

most everything is stock for ease of learning the game and my units.

the feedback I'm looking for is how I could make this list it's most effective in battle and what wld be my best first investment for 40k miniatures. I like the look of guardians and all the wraith units and wld like to make those the backbone of my list as it grows.

Your in luck, as these are some of the best units in the book.

Since you only have 1 guardian squad you don't need the second lock. You would probably be better off with two spirit seers instead.I find them far better than warlocks for the same roles. They cost the same as two warlocks but are more effective.

Guardians really need a special gun if they are on foot. Scattter is my preference, but lance starcannon and shuriken cannon are good too.

Wraithguard are great, but a 5 man squad works best in a serpent. Serpents are insanely good and I would buy one instead of the vipers.twin scatter, holo field and shuriken cannon is a great build.

Wraithlords are ok, I would spring for a sword and better guns. Dual scatter, scatter star or dual lance are all good combinations. Remember dual flamers on the wrists.

Vipers are ok, but easily downed. The eml is ok, but expensive. Better with a scatter and chin cannon or star and chin cannon. I would advise against buying them and get a serpent instead.

Otherwise looks like your off to a good start!

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.
