Hello everyone, just curious about a list that seems to have vanished with the arrival of 6th but still looks nasty IMO. The Blood Angel Mech list where you spam Baal Predators, Vindicators, Razorbacks ect. I remember was very nasty, though not as competitive as it was before is it still effective in this edition?

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.

The question you have to ask is, can I beat Mech-dar, Standard Crons (18 Wraiths, Anni-Barges, D-Lords, Scythes), Standard Tau (Bsides w Commander, Riptides, Skyrays, Kroot, Ethereal), and the myriad of Daemon builds (FMC, Khorne Dogs, Screamerstar)?

The answer is that mech BA (and Marines in general) have an uphill battle at best when facing competent generals running the above lists.

It's the best option BA have got at the moment. Take 2 Furiosos in pods, 2-3 Predators/Vindicators, 2 Baal Preds and 4-5 Razorbacks with Assault Marines. You'll have 7+ AV13 vehicles, that's hard for a lot of armies to deal with, people aren't packing the missile launchers and meltas they did in 5th edition.

Understood, I am mainly running the Mech List out of the BA book because I get super fast Baal Predators and the fact the flamestorm cannon is a good fit for my Black Dragons theme, however I am considering the new Marine Codex as a great place to do a Mech list, especially since they get some anti-air vehicles.

Not bad at all, I was however thinking something more along the lines of x5 Razorbacks with TL Lascannons/Assault Cannons with assault squads inside with a melta or flamer with Seth being my commander, x2 Vindicators, x1 Whirlwind and x3 Baal Predators with flamestorm cannons and heavy flamers and all vehicles having dozer blades, would this be effective?

Well that would give you 5 armor 13 vehicles and six armor 11 so it is definitely more squishy then the other, however the Whirlwind is a good choice especially with all the defense lines running around. Maybe cheapen up the vehicles by losing the dozer blades on all of them and dropping Seth for someone cheaper and see what you can do.

I find myself regretting not taking dozer blades pretty often. On tanks you expect to move (basically, anything without a lascannon) I'd recommend them. More so if you know you'll see lots of area terrain, though I'd drop them quickly if you know area terrain will be more sparse.

I always include dozer blades in my standard tank loadouts. I don't want to immobilize myself; I want to make the enemy do that.

It wouldn't be crazy to include a LR in such a list as a way to keep enemy assault troops at bay.
