Ok, so with the anticipation of the space marine codex, I want the new sternguard without a doubt, but I have been playing Dark angels namely because I picked up the DV box and the dark angel icons on everything kind of steamrolled from there. I try to keep everything pretty consistent, which is where my question comes in.

I'm aware dark angels don't have access to sternguard, which is unfortunate, but I don't plan on building a whole new space marine army just to have sternguard. I want to make DA looking sternguard so based on aesthetics only, what do you fellows of dakkadakka feel would make more sense?

Would sternguard of the DA wear full robes like their company veteran counterparts, or stick with the whole half torso, tabard look like that being shown. I want to think that they are more akin to special ops type unit so "frilly-ness" would be kept at a minimum but then again, when is there not an ostentatious looking veteran or marine for that matter? But I really jut want them to be nearly as "fluffy" as possible.

So....dakkadakka, can you help a brotha out?

I use my robed marines exclusively for my Company Veterans. So I'd use the robed bodies for the vet squad and use the nice power armor bodies for sergeants.

Ok ok, I guess $70 dollars for a squad of 5 isn't the most I've spent on 1 unit but not bad suggestions, I was leaning towards robed bodies but I was just curious, thank you and yes the plethora of combi-weapons coming in the kit is beyond exciting! up until now I have just hodge podging melta guns and flamers with boltguns.
