I have had these guys assembled for months, and just recently finished them. My FLGS is hosting a 1500 point tourney where we have to have fully painted armies. (Its a first for the shop, we have WAY too many primer armies tbh) It was great motivation to get back into painting, especially with a C:SM codex on the way to HOPEFULLY revamp the Black Templars in a good way.

Note: The Black Templar Tabards are the best space marine chests, hands down. My crusaders get normal chests, but I am striving for every other templar in my army to have a tabard...you will see why below (They are sexy

So the group photo:

And from Left to Right:

This guy gets a lot of looks in my store. First because he looks pretty sweet (Maybe I am biased) and second because I am the ONLY person apparently in the local area who takes power axes. Everyone is all "Oh power swords are at initiative" or "You could take a power fist for just 5 more points and it would be better"...well I took the Axe because it looks CRAZY SEXY on my Black Templar. I want this guy to go medieval on people and that Black Templar Axe bit is too good to pass up. Its so good my next chaplain is going to carry one and a crozius in the other hand.

This guy here is something I am personally super proud of. I had the DV sergeant model for months just staring at me because I cant use sergeants and he wouldnt go anywhere else in my army. Then I bought the assault marine box and was like...that jump pack is yours buddy, wear it well. And he does. I love this guy.

I have posted this picture before, but I needed to include my Jump Reclusiarch because he is the whole point I formed this squad. Right now BT Assault marines ALL get melta bombs for pretty cheap. And he gets to have them reroll all misses. My Black Templars dont have a lot of anti tank...but these guys are great at charging tanks, REALLY making sure they go BOOM and then they are right there for the bloody mop up. Here is their leader:

Looking good, I like the subtle highlights on the black, keeps it nice and dark without looking flat.

I would have dry brushed a darker grey for the highlights. Other wise they look good.

That axe looks badass
But I think you could add some details to the white shoulder pads, they are not yet as awesome as the rest already is!

I tried a darker gray at first. It looks better up close but leaves the models looking bland from across the tabletop. The lighter grey looks great from a few feet and still looks good in your hands.

As for the white shoulder pads, what you think I could do to spruce them up? Advice is much appreciated, always looking to improve.

If you want o give the eyes or any other part a nice blue glow. I use a really light grey around the area like the eyes. Then i apply some blue glaze to it and around it.

Hmm...I will try that on my next unit. Blue for plasma, and red for the eyes. I have never used a glaze, will be interesting.
