Hi everyone ! I am currently doing a trade, and here's what I will receive if everything goes well:

Farseer with Spear
20 Dire Avengers with 2 exarch (dual shuriken catapult each)
Wrathlord
Falcon with parts to make it a Fire Prism,
Asurmen.

I have this list in mind :

Farseer : Spear, Rune of Warding
Total: 115

Asurmen
Total: 220

Dire Avengers x5 : Exarch, Twin-Linked ASC, Shield of Grace, Battle Fortune
Total: 105

Dire Avengers x5 : Exarch, Twin-Linked ASC, Shield of Grace, Battle Fortune
Total: 105

Falcon : Shuriken Cannon
Total: 135

Wraithlord : Ghostglaive, Bright Lance, Scatter Laser
Total: 165

Total: 845

What do you think I should buy to upgrade this list to 1000 pts ?

I would personally drop asurmen as I feel he is too expensive for this points value.

I would then swap the scatter laser on the wraithlord for another bright lance.

The balance of the points would be used to bump up the dire avengers to 10 men each and get them wave serpents.

Any points left over would go into warp spiders, war walkers or a fire prism.

I personally would also drop the falcon as there are no useful units to put in it.

Also maybe consider putting the farseer on a jetbike so he can freely use his powers.

Ditto the above. Cannot stress highly enough that dire avengers should be in wave serpents. The survivability of them along with their firepower makes it worthwhile, especially at 1000 pts.

An additional option is dark reapers even a squad of 5 including exarch with all reaper launchers and starshot missiles could be devastating at lower points.

Hi, dont let my new profile fool you. I've been playing Eldar a long time and the thing that makes me different than most players is I tend to shun the spam lists and look for alternate builds that are successful. This helps me more offten than not because most people are only fimiliar with how to counter spam lists. But it is my 2 cents so take it as 2 cents. Im at work so im not sure of point values at the moment.

Farseer : Spear

If you must have a Remanent of Glory take the Spirit Stone of Ana'thallon (whatever the spelling). at 25 points its cost is low and if you roll Fortune your ahead of the game. personally I'd leave the remnents of Glory at home

Dire Avengers x10 in Wave Serpent

I love these guys 100% soild unit. At a low point game is a high point exarch adding anything to your list? if you must have a exarch go with the power weapon and shimmershield at least then your guys have a 5++ save and keep his abilities to only one at this point game.....Add Holofields and spirit stone to wave serpent

Dire Avengers x10 in Wave Serpent

See above

Fire Prism

Add Holofields and spirit stone

Wraithlord : Ghostglaive, Bright Lance, Bright Lance

at his point cost there are alot of opptions that you are not looking at. This guy is carring around so much for one model, not sure about your local gaming scene, but here in my area that guy is dead in one - two turns. Too many high strength and low AP shots. Have you considerd Warp Spiders, Dark Reapers, or War Walkers? Each has something to add to your strategy. Warp spiders deep strike behind stuff and have monofiliment these guys can make short work of problematic tanks and low armor troops. Dark reapers with exarch and all with starshot will provide double if not more strength 8 shots, and if you dont need high strength you can still choose to fire the swarm missles which is 2 at a time per model. lastly War Walkers have scout and can take 2 brightlances with 5++. I think you can field 2 for that wraithlords cost so that is 4 brightlances.

Yeah I considered these options ! From what you're telling me (and from my previous game against IG), I think you're right about the Wraith Lord. So how about:

Farseer : Spear, Rune of Warding, Spirit Stone
Total: 130

Dire Avengers x10 : Exarch, Twin-Linked ASC
Wave Serpent : Holofield, Spirit Stones
Total: 285

Dire Avengers x10 : Exarch, Twin-Linked ASC
Wave Serpent : Holofield, Spirit Stones
Total: 285

Fire Prism : Holofield, Spirit Stones
Total: 150

Dark Reapers : exarch, EML, Flakk, Fast Shot, starshot missiles x2,
Total: 146

Total: 996/1000

it could be useful to take power weapon and shimmershield for the dire avenger exarchs instead of the TL ASC: this could give you a lesser save against AP4 or better weapons, and a few penetrating melee hits if needed!
the TL ASC is not a big deal IMO...

Looks good although drop the EML from the exarch and just purchase the star missles for him. That way he has star and swarm missles and the squad has 4 Strength 8 shots against flyers. Yeah I know the flak allows you to use his full BS, however I really dont think you need it.

Farseer I still think wargear on him is useless

I know I said Spirt stones on the Wave serpents but remember you dont have to. I just want to put that out there. You may need to scrub them for something else after doing a practice game.

Lastly, 9 dire avengers is better than adding a 10th exarch who does nothing for you. An exarch hits on a 2+ do you really need twin linked? of course its your choice in the end, but I think after a game or 2 you'll find him useless.

Good luck

Hey there,
I recently started Eldar so I am by no means an expert, but I'd like to mention that the Dire Avenger exarch is not completely useless imho.
A barebones exarch is 10 points more than a standard avenger but he gets a 3+ armor save, better stats, and all the benefits of being a character. He gets to hit more often, gets the chance to snipe models, save your squad from a nasty cc sergeant (at least for another turn), and he will be able to stop a couple of heavy bolter rounds. So in my opinion, if you've got the points, you might as well take him.
Also I find that a wraithlord (two is better!) will take a ridiculous amount of fire off your skimmers. They probably aren't very competitive at 1000 points, but I would strongly consider them in higher point games.

So I'll echo a few comments and add a few more.

Drop the spirit stones all around, add scatter lasers to the serpents.

Reapers, all starshot, fast shot on the exarch, done.

Put the Farseer on a jetbike with a spear, no other upgrades. Mobility and throwing psychic powers around.

I haven't found the exarch upgrade to be worth it on avengers. 10 regular dudes do just as fine for me.

Not sure how many points that is total with the changes, but you may have enough for a 4th reaper, which would be good.

Otherwise the setup looks good as a base to start any army!
