Reading these two threads got me thinking:

If weapons can get drawbacks (slow to fire) from being fired like a bolt thrower/cannon, can they also get benefits like automatic panic on wounded units for being a fire thrower?

For now, I would say yes. The panic check is a generic part of the Flame Thrower rules, not part of the profile.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

As above, it is a firethrower with modified rules. The modifications do not take out auto panic.
