I wanted to use my Land Raider with Abaddon and Chosen. Let me know what you think:

HQ:
Abaddon

Elite:
3x Terminators w/ 3x Combi-Melta and 3x Power Axe
10x Plague Marines w/ 2x Plasma Guns, Champ with Power axe and Combi-Plasma

Troops:
8x Chosen with 5x Plasma and Champ with combi-plasma, Mark of Slaanesh, Icon of Excess
31x Cultists

Fast:
6x Nurgle Bikers w/ 2x Melta guns, VotLW, Champ with Lightning Claw and Combi-Melta

Heavy:
Land Raider with Dirge Caster
Forgefiend with 2x Hades Autocannon

1x Rhino

Puts me to 1748pts.

Sounds like you're planning on having Abaddon and the Chosen in the Landraider, which is an odd setup as you've tooled the unit up with Rapid Fire weapons (can't assault) with a very close combat character.

Your troops won't hold an objective without getting wiped, and you are lacking heldrakes. If you want to compete you're going to have an extremely difficult time. However, if you're playing casual do what you want.

It seems confused. You'd be better off with a plague marine bike army or an abaddon chosen land raider army than you would be with your amalgamation of both with random cultists sprinkled on top.

I only chose Chosen because Abaddon makes the troops. From what I've read, Chosen are very pricey to make CC. Usually I run Kharn with 9x Berzerkers in LR, but I wanted to get Abaddon in there somehow.

Plus I don't own any Heldrakes......yet

This list is all over the shop.

Too many points invested in crappy or expensive units i.e Land Raider, Forgefiend, Abaddon etc.

Plague Marines are too big size, you only need to take five to get double specials.

Chosen would be fine at five also.

Not sure why you have got a crap load of Cultists for. The minute they take 25% damage they will run away - they need fearless i.e Dark Apostle or Chaos Lord.

And that's fine. It's just not worth it to take abaddon to make only a single squad of chosen troops. If you're going to go the abaddon chosen route get abaddon, a squad of termies for him to ride with, two squads of chosen, and three land raiders as the beginning of the list.

Here are some variations that i found to be strong

Aba, 8 chosen, 5 flamers, LR, dc (horde bbq and can assault)

Aba, 8 chosen, 5 meltas, lr,dc (surprisingly good against mc and even TEq from 5 deadly shots, 3 pistols, and 24+ close combat attacks)

Switchout all spec guns for 1 pf not on champ and now you can deliver 2-3 punches. Add MoK and possibly IoW to go completely assault.

Aba, 6 termi, MoS, IoE, pick any combo but do not take expensive reaper ac. Just like chosen, you can hide a pf not on a champ.

I personally would have prefered infiltration over troops choice for chosen squad. U are definately on the right track only using 1 squad of chosen. Try turning 1 biker into a Lord, MoN just so you unlock plague as troops. Reduce pm squad to fit him in and dont for get price of 1 biker upgraded to lord.
