Hello everyone, I am very much wanting to create my own chapter of Space Marines known as the "Fire Drakes" if my Black Dragon army idea just becomes to much of a hassle to even do. Now I want to use Orange in my scheme (have not decided on it being a primary color or not) but I just need some help finding some good color combos. I am a novice to painting so any help is appreciated, thanks!

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

i've always liked the orange/ grey / white and black combination, as opposed to that, a quartered orange and blue marine paint scheme should look nice and striking

Dark angels 70/100 of deathwing, 50/100 ravenwing, 80-100 3rd company
IG +6k pts
and a sampling of different armies
warmachine, 40-50 points of:
protectorate, legion, and convergence armies

Theresa few ways you can go about it. Orange pairs well with its neighbouring colours if used as a main colour - so pair it with yellow and red. If you are using it as a spot colour, its opposite works better, which is a turquoise colour. Have a look at colour theory.

I personally think orange works best with strong contrasts. Black, white and light blue would be my suggestions.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Or you could just get yourself a color wheel.

Dullspork, that is a cool helper tool you found. I think that will help out when I start painting.
