Greetings Dakka community,
It's been a while now since I started to sneak through these vast labyrinth of wargaming topics called "DakkaDakka".
First anonymously and since a few month now with a real account I roamed the forums and galleries picking up lots of input for my own projects and learned many thinks to improve my skills.
Finally I found the time, mood and muse to at least write a "short" introduction.
Well, I'm from Germany (born in the north, but living in the south for some years now), 33 years old and earning my money as an
IT guy.
My first experience with wargaming (
WHFB in particular) lies several years back, but I it never really caught me back then. I mainly spend my free time and my spare money on
RPGs (The Dark Eye (DSA), (A)D&D, Shadowrun, Earthdawn, etc) during that years.
I eventually started the wargaming hobby at the end of 2012 (October or November. Didn't write it down

) after a friend more or less forced me to lead his ork army against the tyranids of another friend (had a damn luck on the dice rolls and made the tyranid player almost cry a little bit ^^).
My first own step into the hobby was buying the Space Marine painting kit from
GW to get a feeling if it really suited me and if I still had the necessary skills (I already had some painting experience on a few Star Quest/Space Quest minis, but I hadn't picked up a brush for many, many years). The result was buying the Dark Vengeace box and some Tau Firewarriors a week or two later.
Today I'm mostly working on my Tau army or my Ariadna (Infinity). But every now and then I Also work on some Space Marines (Space Wolves/homebrew chapter) or even the Nordgaard (Godslayer) starter box I picked up not so long ago. Not to forget the terrain buildung experiments I have running as a side project.
In the end I would say I'm more a painter and builder instead of a real player.
Some of my works can be found in my gallery here on Dakka or in my blog (see signature below, but it's in German).
And if I have some time left after all those tasks I sometimes even write a short story or two. Most of them are unrelated to my wargaming activities but if you are capable of German, don't hesitate to have a look at them on my blog.
Best regards
PfiBp
