I have been trying to figure out a way to get my opponents to bunch together, making these weapons more effective. So far, I've got nothing, but was hoping that the Dakka community had figured something out.

Tank shock

Suicide assault GK troops with that one inquisitor that drops a bomb down on friendlies.

otherwise there is not much in the way of force-ably moving an enemy unit together.

Se up lots of impassible, dangerous and difficult terrain that can funnel them into smaller patches of the board. Ideally stuff that doesn't give good cover should be used.

The Lateral Move

When moving a decoy unit, something you opponent either wants to engage or get within rapid fire range, etc, move just close enough that your opponent wants to close that gap. By moving laterally your opponent will try and get as close as possible, and those 6"s will get a bit longer as the trailing edge of the group tries to maximize their move. Its usually not intentional but when moving an entire squad it works well especially with Orks. Also, even when very strict movement is followed the lateral move works as your opponent moves the lead squad forward and the trailing edge follows suit. Works extremely well in conjunction with DT or impassible terrain in which your opponent has to move around.

Asuming they pass LD, they will need to move the shortest distnace to clear the tank while staying in coherncy,

so say there is a blob like below
0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0

now they are a bit closer together.

and if you were to tank shock them on both sides, then fire 6 pulse submunition rifles at them...
