Hey guys.

Have had my gk army for quite a while now, about 3000 points but all in different stages of painting and nothing I consider "finished yet". The idea of this blog will be to motivate me to finish things so I can show it all off to you guys At the moment I have:

Draigo
Coteaz
Libby in termie armour

Vindicare assassin

10 paladins
10 strikes
9 henchman

5 interceptors
stormraven

2 psyfleman dreads
dreadknight
land raider crusader / redeemer

Aegis line with quad + icarus

Here is a few photo's of everything so far:

I have recently ordered some scenic bases, weathering powders and the all important hobby drill to drill those gun barrels. Am working on 2 paladins as a test and should have them "finished" in about a weeks time.

I will also slowly add to the collection hoping to finish with about 6k points worth of grey knights so I can move on to my second army.

Thanks dakka, Tuiman

As mentioned before, have ordered in some scenic bases and weathering powders and will start with two test subjects. Have a day off work today so aim to have both models finished and will update this post until they are complete.

Bases and powders:

My test subjects, two paladins, we will call them Bert & Ernie for simplicity sake:

Bases are primed and drying, models have had there guns drilled out, will update in a few hours when the bases are painted.

Ok so bases are pretty much finished, just need to finish of some details on the paladins (eyes, swords, final highlights, scrolls) before giving the whole thing a final coat of clear varnish to seal in those powders.

For my first time using powders, I'm quite happy with the final result. I'm looking forward to trying them out next on my Land raider.

Any comments?

Looking good but that might be a bit too much powder.

Thanks for the comment. I'm still quite new to all this so appreciate any comments that come on this blog, and any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping after I spray the matt varnish that it wont look as much as it does now but more subtle.

I know that feeling.

According to this the spray should blow off a lot of the powder so it might end up looking good. Fingers crossed.

Small update:

Have pretty much finished the two paladins off and given a coat of clear varnish, how do the bases look now?

Also finished assembling my crusader, will prime it silver and start painting it some time this week.

Opinions?

Edit, it might be the flash on the camera but the bases are not that bright in real life
