I'll be getting three boxes, myself. Would be fun to run a bunch of Churchills support by Crocs (which I have a love/hate relationship with, since their flamethrower can only be used ONCE in a game, but hey - who doesn't like flamethrowers?) and 17 pdr M10s for Anti-tank.

Yeah without sounding like a douche, yonks seems to be the order of the day. Still no Artillery on the Horizon.

He announced it like 24 months ago in 2011, even went so far as adding Arty as a Category option on the website. Which was subsequently removed....

So the guy decided Artillery wasn't a big seller. So what? It's not like big artillery pieces feature all that much outside of FoW.

Personally I think he was smart to back out of that (if that is what he has done). Artillery's all crew, barrels and trucks. Zvesda's got most of the trucks covered already and infantry and barrels are his two weakest model elements. When he first mentioned artillery I though he meant Wespes and Priests and such but he actually meant 25pdrs and such. Anything that moves Soviet heavy tanks and SP guns up the list gets my vote, though I wouldn't say no to Wespes and Priests.

I was hoping for Crocs on the sprue, sadly disappointed. Maybe Croc trailers and bits will be part of a forthcoming release.
Which ruleset has Crocs only firing once a game? The write up in Flames of War goes on about how you get eighty one second shots with a Croc flamer which is more rounds than you usually get for nearly all tank guns. Are you sure there is no exception?

Fuel Trailer
The biggest weakness of flame-tanks is their fuel tanks which make them prone to burning if hit. The Churchill Crocodile solved this problem by putting the fuel in an armoured trailer.
Churchill Crocodile tanks are not affected by the Fuel Tanks rule like normal tank flame-throwers. In addition, Tank Platoons equipped with Churchill Crocodile tanks may not launch assaults nor may they Counterattack if assaulted.
Crocs only get a rule to remove the Fuel Tanks rule, not the one shot rule.
Just to confirm 'team' means any model, not just stand of infantry. As one shot weapon applies to 'teams'.
I wonder if this was updated in Overlord.

I would buy them without a tow. i think alot of people would buy the tow seperately and use them for other purposes.

A box of 4 Sextons, Wespes, Priests, Hummels, etc etc would sell well.
I'm not interested in 25lb's you can pick them up cheap from Forged in Battle or other places.

Also from the Flames of War website:
Its heavy turret does mean it has Slow Traverse however.
The Churchill Crocodile comes in platoons of three as an alternative armament for the Tank Platoon.
It’s armoured and armed the same as the Churchill VII, but replaces the hull MG with a flame-gun. Like all flame-throwers in Flames Of War the Crocodile flame-gun can only be used for one turn.

One shot Churchil Crocodiles is madness, it so goes against the design.
Ok. stick to Wasp Carriers then.
I am disappoint.

Erm... The Wasps are also one shot weapons, at least the flamethrowers.
What makes Crocs semi-viable in FoW is their heavy front armor, which can shake off German heavy tank rounds, and that they still have a fairly decent - if slow traversing - turret-mounted gun.

Wasps can afford to be one shot weapons, they don't cost a lot which IMHO is a requirement for a one shot weapon platform.

You've still got the 75mm gun and the Coax MG. Plus you don't have to fire all of the flame throwers in the platoon at the same target or even at the same time.
Chances are that you won't spend that many turns within flame-thrower range anyhow. IIRC they got a boost in the new books, 6" range on their flame-throwers.

Right, good. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. Agree on the cheapness of the Wasps - I've yet to do a full Bren carrier platoon in game, but I think it's be interesting with the MGs, Flamethrowers, and PIATs available.
