Obviously I would need to buy the rulebook and the fallen realms book. Having stated that, here are the miniatures I really like and would be inspired to put in a force -

Isengard Commanders box set (4 minis, 1 is banner & 1 is shaman)
Lurtz
Isengard Troll (I like it with all the uruk looking armor)
Ugluk and Vrasku, Uruk-hai Captains
4 to 8 Uruk-hai Berserkers
12 Uruk-hai Scouts
20 Uruk-hai Warriors (10 sword/shield & 10 pikes)
4 to 8 Uruk-hai with Crossbows

I am unsure of the points of all this, but at my local GW they typically play 500, 750, and 1k games. I would greatly appreciate some input on this brainstorming session of mine...

Now I'm not a Uruk player but the mix of models you have are nice

You would have enough heroes as you now need 1 hero to 12 warriors so that's good. The Uruk-Hai warrriors will make a nice block to hold your centre while the berserkers and the scouts hold the flank, troll supporting either.

So all in all, I like your little list, just do yourself a favour and ebay as much of it as possible!

Your list would make for a solid army, very few troops in the game has the same amount of holdingpower a line of figthing Uruks has, but be weary of any Elfs with bows. A seasoned player will be abel to wither your blocks down with ranged fire. That aside your list looks more or less ready once you divide them into warbands and allocate captains. The troll should be going on one flank as the good Brother captain said, if I where to add to this I would look into some Harad raiders for a bit mounted mobility and flank harrasment. Or Warg riders if you wish to keep the tyheme all Isengard

A good force - maybe try to up the crossbow count.

We have a Uruk Hai force, and added one third Orc spearmen, and upped the crossbows and shields, which increases efficiency somewhat.

If you like converting, it's easy ot make the pikemen into crossbows - and they are vicious.

Update.
I went and got the Fallen Realms book!

Looks like I will start with this -

Isengard Commander box (captain, banner, shaman, musician)
Lurtz
Isengard Troll
Ugluk and Vrasku, Uruk-hai Captains
4 Uruk-hai Berserkers
11 Uruk-hai Warriors & a banner (11have sword/shield)
4 Uruk-hai with Crossbows
12 Uruk scouts

That's roughly 745 pts...& $230.25 from GW...

So, I was thinking of splitting this into 5 warbands.

Lurtz would lead 12 scouts
Shaman would have Isengard Troll as body guard
Ugluk would lead the 4 berserkers
Captain from box will lead 11 Uruk-hai Warriors & a banner (shield & pike combo)
Vrasku will lead the 4 Uruk-hai with Crossbows & have a banner & a musician

OR, I also thought of splitting this into teams like this -

4 warbands made of 1 crossbow, 1 berserker, 3 scouts, 3 pikemen (in 2 groups there are 2 pikes & 1 banner), and 1 group has an extra member, a musician

So Lurtz would run one of those warbands, and Ugluk, and Vrasku, and the Captain from boxed set. Shaman still would have troll as bodyguard...

Thoughts? Maybe a mix of swords & pikes? Have not played yet, nor got the rulebook, so this is very speculative....

If your going to split it keep the standard uruks and pikes together, so say a captain, 6 shield and 6 pike. Pikes need to shield uruks to fight behind to negate any strong firepower or enemies.

Trolls ain't guards neither, hurl it at people with wild abandon (with reasonable intelligence though!). If you hang round with a troll prepare for it to become an 'arrow hedgehog' and yes you will cry as it hits the ground without killing anything

You original composition isn't bad, but I'd want more crossbows or at least bowmen in there

Can a troll be it's own unit? Or are you saying to put him in a warband? Then the shaman would be an indy character? Is that safe? What if I gave all scouts a bow? I am kinda locked into the minis I bought.....
