That's my first army to field, to play around with mostly vanilla SM, GK and Eldar.
I've tried to get cometitive mechanized list, but with artillery.

HQ: CCS; Commander-warlord, 4 veterans and master of ordnance
Troop1: Vets with 3 plasmaguns, carapace and chimera.
Troop2: Same vets with plasmas and carapace, but mounted in Vendetta
Fast: Vendetta with 3 TW lascannons
Heavy1: Leman Russ Demolisher with hull-mounted lascannon, without sponsons
Heavy2: Manticore
Fortification, Aegis with Quadgun

Should this get some improvements?

To be honest, there are a couple of things I don't like about this list.

Firstly, the demolisher. I find the short range too limiting here, if you want AT, take a vanquisher, if you want anti-TEQ then take an executioner.

Secondly, I can see where you're going with the mechanised style, but one chimera and a russ isn't going to cut it. Ideally you need 3+ chimeras, all with as many special weapons as you can fit in. Here's my suggestion for a list on the same theme:

CCS, 4x melta: 90
Chimera, ML,HB: 55

Veteran squad, 3x plasma: 115
Chimera, ML, HB: 55

Veteran squad, 3x plasma: 115
Chimera, ML, HB: 55

Leman Russ Vanquisher, LC, PC: 210

Leman Russ exterminator, HB sponsons; 175

Vendetta: 130

Total: 1000

This gives you the good core of a mechanised list, with 3 chimera squads and 2 russes, and the 'detta for air support. Don't feel the need to use it as a transport, the chimeras are better for that. Keep it as an AA/AT unit. I couldn't fit the artillery in (although you could swap out the exterminator for a manticore).

Hope that helps.

Oh, thanks a lot for some critics
About the executioner - I am afraid of "gets hot". By the way, should I field engineseer for it, just in case?
Anyway, there are many guardsmen to assemble and paint, and I have some time to think about list corrections. I will keep in mind to field more chimeras.

I really don't see Gets Hot as an issue for the executioner, PC sponsons are generally overkill and the main gun does not get hot. Even with the sponsons, you still only have a 1/12 chance of getting hot, and will fire a maximum of 14 shots per game, if you fire both sponsons every turn and the game lasts as long as it can. I've run PC on my vanquishers quite a bit, and never lost more than 1HP a game. Usually, they lose none.

To be honest, the LC/PC Vanquisher should cover anti-TEQ pretty nicely anyway, especially with all the plasma the vets are throwing around, so an executioner is not needed here. The exterminator with HB serves you better by providing volume of fire against hordes and good strength against light/medium vehicles. Use the exterminator to pop transports hile the Vanquisher goes for the harder targets like AV13+. TEQ and MCs.

The enginseer is not really a good idea, He doesn't add that much and this kind of list you need to focus more on killing power than anything else.

With chimeras, it's kind of all or nothing. Either all your vet squads should be in them, or none. One or two chimeras will die easily, 3+ is a good number and forces the opponent to split their AT firepower. Add in the russes and your vehicles' survivability increases massively.

Why are you afraid of get hot? the main plasma cannon turret doesnt have the gets hot rule, which means you dont roll for gets hot. Just because its plasma doesnt mean you roll for gets hot, always make sure you read the rule book, Codex and FAQ. So if you include plasma sponsons you roll 1 dice for each sponson, on a roll of a 1 you over heat, roll another dice for the over heated spoonson, on a 1,2,3 you lose a hull point then. Ive run plasma sponsons with executioners and Vanqs since the start of this edition, Ive only over heated 2 times and lost a hull point once, and Ive played a lot of games, its not as scary as you think it is.
