Welcome,

I am not normally a person that keeps up on blogs but I wanted to stick with this project and I figured it would help if I have something to update on occasion so hopefully this will help keep me in line. Maybe along the way it will give somebody inspiration.

Recently I decided to start up a Tyranid army as I didn't have enough stuff to build/paint already. I happen to be searching on youtube and found a guy on there (Aceface Hickers) and I really liked his paint scheme so I decided to copy it. It is pretty basic as it is just a drybrush of grey for the skin, Green Talons, and layered blue for the carapace. It pops on the table and looks good all around. I am happy with my tests so far and have decided to stick with this scheme.

My Army list so far:

1 Flying Hive Tyrant
2 Tervigon
3 Tyrgons / Prime
2 Venomthrope
1 Zoanthrope
1 Carnifex
6 FW ripper swarms
10 Gargoyles
9 Genestealers
3 Hive guard
A lot of Hormagaunts and Termagaunts but not enough...

I have a few FW models I want as I still need a doom and I plan on buying a couple spores from puppetswar.

I plan on using the gw rippers as magnetized wound counters for all my MC.

If you have any ideas on basing let me know, I am thinking of just a simple earth tones with some tufts or grass with slate for rocks.

Well enough of the talking. I haven't finished anything completely yet but here is my work so far for the past couple days. Let me know what you guys think. I am always happy to hear what others think. I know it isn't much to look at now but they are already shaping up.

I think this ended up being like 480 total coats of blue for all these rippers.... ugh sooo many rippers.

Fully magnetized.

Also Magnetized completely.

would anyone here be mad about this guy? Modelling for Advantage? I cut off a bit too much but I can't have all three of my trygons using the same pose.

Primed and ready to go.

Well I hope you enjoy. I have a whole lot more to build and prime so I am off.

Liking the scheme, looking forward to more, especially any big bugs

On the trogon, I have seen people just model the claws breaking the surface, yours is fine

Well I actually got quite a bit of painting done today. Seeing as I painted a ton of smaller guys I gave myself a present and got to paint a bigger bug.

I also finished building my Tervigon, I just need to glue in the magnets and she will be ready for priming. The talons/claws on the Carnifex will give you a better idea of how they will look. I still have about 3 more layers of green until it is done so it will be a lot brighter.

Carnifex CRAB!!!

This week Fall semester began so I haven't had anytime to actually paint but I am working on building a bit here and there.

I have built my second Trygon with magnetized ripper wound counters. I am also making a custom Doom, here are the WIPs. Let me know what you think.

Still need to lay down some dirt and the base will be done.

WIP Doom. I still have a lot to do but hey it is a start.

I hope to get another box of Gargoyles, Hormagaunts, and Termagaunts built this 3 day weekend. I have 12 Genestealers built and a Space Hulk broodlord in the mail.

Looking good, colours seem pretty muted but it's refreshing. Keep it up!
