Hi all,

New to the site, I have an outbuilding at my house which is used as my gaming area. I am in the process of building an 8ftx4ft board, using the GW panels and 2 forgeworld ones. I am currently playing a full painted Tau army (up to 2k points), and working on a 1850 Bad Moon list made from mainly marine tanks and bikes. My usual gaming partner playing a SM sons of medusa army.

We are looking for more diversity within our gaming and are asking for any players that fancy light hearted battles (neither of us play compeitively) to get in touch, I live in central Chelmsford, Essex. About 10 mins from the train station and as much tea and coffee as you need!!!

So, get in touch and lets have some battles. I have everything you need, dice, templates, rulebook etc etc etc...

Anticipate completion of the board by the end of September.

I'm not too far from Chelmo, I've mostly been playing Necromunda recently so have not been playing too much 40k but could be tempted to get my IG out of the box for a friendly game.

There's also the Chelmsford Bunker. It's based at the Police Social club and very nice all told (beer, war gaming and member discounts ftw!). There's not a huge 40k following there anymore but there are a few active players there. There's some talk of a league soon which usually increases the attendance. Take a look on the Bunker forum if you fancy something regular, family commitments usually mean I'm an irregular gamer.

A Chelmsford Bunker do they mainly play warmachine then?

The Bunker does seem to have a strong warmachine following but that's because they are quite organised with tournaments and releases and the like but there's usually quite a few other games on. You will almost always find someone willing to play 40k.

Will have to go and have a look, don't play warmachine but quite like the khador models. Might try it.

If you do join the CB forums first so that you can ensure a game when you get there plus there is a trade thread there where you might find some bargin WM models fro one of the players.

Hey there, not sure if ya still looking for people but I live just over in Braintree. Just got back into 40k after a 22 year break. Don't really have a viable army yet as only bought dark vengeance and some of other bits but would certainly be interested once I've got sorted.

Yeah, the more the merrier. Just top and tailing the board so will be ready soon. So, what took your fancy? Dark Angels or Chaos?

Dark angels.... then Chaos. Can't choose between the two so have decided to develop both simultaneously. Love the fluff of the Dark Angels but aesthetically Chaos comes out tops.

The models in that box set are awesome, will send a PM with some details about gaming

Yep the models look gorgeous. Especially the chaos chosen. They might not after I try my hand at converting them though!

Yep. Has to be done. The CC weapons look great but in the few games I've played with my cousin they've been getting shot down before they can get close to anything. Kinda sad really.

The squad as it is also comes to a huge amount of points. Should make them a little cheaper too. Or..... Stick them (and a few more) in a land raider.

Funnily enough I just got the land raider idea from another forum. How would I make them cheaper?

The way they are currently equipped works out at a lot of points, giving them less 'specialist' weapons cuts the cost a fair chunk
