Hey Everyone!

My most recent army project was to start a competitive renegade imperial guard army (using the IG Codex rules) with allied Chaos Daemons as drop troops to take out tougher targets or for other general assistance, i'm not particularly sure if i should go with a Blob or mechanized army to complement the deep striking daemons. Would anyone be able to share some advice on how such an army might work, and how i should start building my list. OR is there a different army that could work better to support imperial guard, perhaps Necron? (i could represent them with dark mechanicus conversions?)

PS: The overall fluff theme is Nurgle, but i could disregard any fluff to make a competitive list work.
