Today's project - winged Hive Tyrant of hive fleet Inferno lol

This is only my 6th Nid and by far the biggest, could be better but I think it worked out quite well, was testing a few new techniques on it which taught me some things :-)

Looking good, I like the detail you got into the wings. For your 6th Nid its very impressive.

Cheers, thats encouraging, the other 5 nids have just been termagaunts :-)
The wings went sort of to plan and also sort of not lol, its the largest area I've ever used a wash on, and suffered a bit from tide marks / bit of pooling, but think I patched it up OK when its seen for real.

My conversion on the TL Devourers is a bit dodgy I think but it does the job and at least it alters them from normal devourers... Plus could palm them off as TL Deathspitters maybe lol

I actually really like the way those converted devourers look. I'd run them on my flyrant.

Really appreciate the kind comments guys, I wasn't sure how it'd go down... It's similar to Hive Fleet Kraken and some people don't like the nail varnish/'ard-cote finish and the weapon conversions being my first attempt at such a thing, but its very encouraging and reassures me in honing the scheme further.
At least I can paint swarms of gaunts fast with this scheme too lol

I've been varnishing my nids, love the candy shell look on them and its protects the paint.
