So my friend managed to rope me into painting his tyranid army for him, and after much thinking and googling I think I've found a colour scheme I like. I decided the tester model would have to be this beast

Nice paint scheme. Looks very familiar.

I love the little changes you made to the model: The tongue, the horn, the ankle spikes. Makes it look like an extra special tyrant; which of course the swarm lord is!

Interesting color scheme. My brain keeps wanting to think Bee or wasp, but the red obviously throws it off. I like it, i also like the black wash on the red and how it ties it together. I particularly like how the two leafs come off the base at the rear.

I really like the edge effect on the carapace plates. It makes them look very tough and bulletproof.

Fantastic scheme you have chosen. The colours are very primal and aggressive which matchs the Nids well.

Lol, I thought the fruit flies on my bananas were a problem. Looks like you have a worse infestation on your hands.

I really like the yellow on black part of the scheme. The brushstrokes make it look jaggy and dangerous. Nice!
