So I've a friend who's been enjoying this with his kid and on his own, by this I mean the latest money pump from Disney, Infinity, which is a clone of skylanders, which of course is a core game + Toys that is basically a cash cow. My friend has complained about the fact of how much it will cost him etc. I just laughed and said "that's nothing, I play 40k, to me everything I buy is just DLC in plastic form"
Anybody else think this?

For the Lion and Terra!
Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.
With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.
Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

From what I understand, excluding the $75 starter set, it would cost over $200 to get all the extra characters for Infinity, which, as you say, is nothing compared to 40k, but when put up against to $60 for a normal game $275+ is a bit much. I've heard the 'toybox' mode is fun, but unlike Skylanders you can't just use any character in any story mode. You can only use them in appropriate story areas i.e. you can't take Sully from Monsters Inc into The Incredibles city, or Mr. Incredible into the Pirates of the Caribbean world. You also have to have unique characters to play co-op; you can't play co-op out of the box, you have to pay for another $14 character to do so.

I don't know much about Inifinity, but I like Skylanders. It appeals to the hoarder in me.
I personally am excited for when they start apply this technology to existing franchise products like Transformers, Star Wars, and G.I. Joe.

At it's core 40k, Skylanders and Disney infinity have the same appeal as any collectible game.
In the 90's it was pokemon cards.
