Hi all, it's been a long time since I've posted here, but I've began to pick up the hobby again and finish my Necron project (and start my WoC!). I am looking to add a C'Tan shard to my army and options for the miniature seemed quite flexible, thus I didn't want to use GW's current representations.

The few options I've looked at so far are the C'Tan shard that comes in the Tesseract Vault model and the Forgeworld K'Daai Fireborn. Unfortunately I cannot justify £95 for one model (even if it does come with a free mega-monolith) and he seems impossible to find on eBay. The Fireborn are nice, and I can see some potential in adding Necron weapons to replace their own, but they are only available in sets of three, and the same problem exists where I cannot find even one on eBay. I've included the images below:

I've also looked at GW's Necromancer Sauron, but he looks like a rather poor sculpt to me.

Any ideas folks? I don't mind if it's not GW/Forgeworld, but I have very poor knowledge of miniature companies outside of GW/Forgeworld. As a general idea I want something different, and slightly ethereal. Thanks in advance.

I have a strong Egypt/Stargate theme and am using this Kabuki model Anubis, Lord Of Envy (70mm, 33$):

The Lich Lord Asphyxious models from warmachine might make a good c'tan shard with a little conversion. Although one of my favorite ideas I've seen for one was to make a vaguely humanoid-shaped thing out of a bunch of scarabs and some necron machinery like wires.

The Seraphs of Thunder: a homebrew, almost entirely converted successor Deathwing. And also some Orks. And whatever else I have lying around.

He's fairly tall (55 mm), plus I have him floating over some rocks with scarabs on the base.

i like these ideas but im just such a die hard metal nightbringer fan....so if i ever did play necrons id either just use that or convert that up to my own shard variant.
