So I bought the box of DA terminators, for the bitz mostly but decided that I'm going to put them together;

I'm trying to incorporate a bit of red into the model to set them apart. This is the work in progress shield. I don't have a picture right now but I went ahead and painted the wing Silver/White but those two colors are blending too much into one another.

I do like how the red on the robe angel look, how would you paint the wings?

I'll post a follow up picture when I get home as well, but I'm not really liking the white/silver look.

Wings, I would go wit painting them all over with codex grey (Now called Dawnstone I think), then simply painting the flat tops of the feathers with your standard white, leaving grey in the crevices to shade.

I don't personally, so I can't vouch for the end result, but I suppose you could add a bit of codex grey into the white to tone it down a bit when painting the feathers, allowing for a white edge highlight along the feathers edge. Similarly, you could add a bit abbadon black to the codex grey basecoat to add more shade. however, as I said before, I can't vouch for how that experimentation would turn out.

How about doing a bit of blending from a white feather tip through yellow and orange to a crimson feather root...

Personally i would of removed all DA iconography, shaved the front of the shield and done a lava/fire thing in the center. but that's just me

If your going to keep everything and paint it. painting straight white on another color will be a supreme head ache, you should slowly build it up from grey to white.
