So ive scoured the internet and have yet to find a suitable proxy or replacement for the vindicaressin model. I would like to have the one where he is aiming the rifle but gw doesnt have it any more. Any suggestions on conversions or replacement model?

You might try calling some local shops or advertising here in the Swap Shop.

I'm sure someone has one.

Worst case: I have one I might be willing to part with.

40k is as exciting as riding a pony, which doesn't sound very exciting.......

But the pony is 300 feet tall and covered in CHAINSAWS!

I really like the rifle anvil industries has. Im really having a hard time finding a model that matchesbthe fluff with the whole sprayed on form fitting suit look.

Have you considered alternate models in general?

Infinity has some really nice sniper models.

I would personally suggest this guy as a "counts as" Vindicare:

Infinity models tend to be a bit "wiry" compared to GW sculpts. It's no different than the actual Vindicare Assassin model you are looking for though, which is an older sculpt and looks a bit chunky compared to a modern sculpt.

Infinity uses 28mm "realistic" v. 28mm "heroic" that GW uses.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

This guy might be a bit more "in scale" with GW's stuff, as it is a slightly older Infinity sculpt that is known to be chunky.

I think they are both great, i intend to run three just for some support. We play a lot of urban conflict type maps and i think these sculpts will be a nice contrast to my gk army.

If it helps any, this is a hastily put together attempt at replacing the sniper scout rifle with the one from Anvil Industries. Not the best quality, but it doesn't have the look of an assassin, more of a scout with a bad ass rifle.

The assassin always looked a bit sleek, have you thought about using an Eldar and or high elf model as the starting point?

Sad to say, the assassins are unique meaning only 1 of each can be taken. Which is pretty good as 3 turbo penetration rounds a turn would be very powerful.

Though seeing those scouts, yeah I would agree about not using them as the assassin.

so, i wonder if the shooting Vindicare didn't take well to Finecast...
they seem to have all the other old Assassin minis for sale...
it's a shame, as the shooting Vindicare is much better than the weapons in the air version...

guess i had better finish painting mine, so i can sell him on...
maybe that will motivate me to get some paint on my 54mm version, too...

cheers

Well dang i overlooked the unique listing in the codex. I guess that means i just got to put extra love and care to the one i do make. For some reason the picture of the assassin i want in my mind is like psycho mantis from metal gear but with a snipe rifle

Hey, found the Vindicare Assassin you are looking for on eBay. Here is the link for it, its out of the UK, but still fairly chap at the moment. Also selling a couple of other assassins from the same seller.

I've got both of those vindicares (in metal) - through luck, not planning, though.

I've picked both of them up in bits bags in second hand deals. The same way I managed to get all of the other assassin models (in metal). I managed to get sniper guy AFTER I had stopped playing 40k, though (always wanted it, since it shared the look of an old ABC warriors piece of art).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Oh wow, why did they stop making the aiming vindicator model?

Likely a problem with the mold. The aiming Vindicare was a really popular model and was occasionally out of stock, and being metal/direct only he would have been cast to order.
