Hello everyone! I've finally gone off the deep end and started collecting a steel legion army. Everyone should thank me as I'm pretty sure that's the ONLY reason we have rumors of new SL plastics around the corner. *takes a bow* You're welcome!

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what paints to use for my steel legion. I'm wanting to paint them as close to cannon as I can, but I don't need to be spending a crazy amount of time on each trooper.

So I'm planning on undercoating black, then airbrushing everything in Steel Legion Drab. I'm planning on using rhinox hide with a seraphim sepia wash for the leather. Leadbealcher and nuln oil was for the metal. The yellow for the coats is kind of stumping me though. Thoughts on this? Also need help on the grey for the helmets and pants!

One of them filthy casuals...

I have just bought a ton of Steel Legion too.

The closest I can find to the yellow was Tau Sept Ochre/Devlan Mud Wash then Tau Sept Ochre layer and Tau Sept Ochre with Bleached Bone mixed highlights with the old paints.

With the new paints I am torn with

Averland Sunset (at a stretch) Agrax Earthshade Wash then Averland Sunset and Averland Sunset/Screaming Skull mixed to highlight.

Or

Zamesi Desert/Agrax Earthshade Wash then Zamesi Desert and Zamesi Desert/Screaming Skull to highlight.

The above paints look more yellow than they look on the chart.

The grey I am just going with Abbadon Black, Nuln Oil, Eshin Grey, Dawnstone with Longbeard Grey highlight maybe washed again after.
