I am looking towards starting a HH Emperors Children army with models from FW, since I'm looking at a fairly big order (314 pounds$) I was wondering if anybody has any tips on what to expect and do when ordering FW especially big orders in Canada.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Or if people know of any Canadian or American store online that will sell FW would also help.

Go to http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/, buy models. You're over the 250 GBP minimum for free express shipping, so just wait for your stuff to arrive.

And there is no other store that sells them. FW does not go through the normal retailer network, anyone else with FW models for sale is either a random person selling off something they don't want anymore or a recaster.

I think he's more worried about things like "Will customs bend me over a barrel?"

The barrel part is what I'm worried about, what hidden cost should I expect when fully paid for . I've never done this before.

Call FW, ask them what they think. At the very least they ought to be able to point you in the right direction to get an answer.

Forgeworld aren't going to be able to tell him anything other than who to call, and if they can even do that is questionable. Better to do a google search for "Canadian Customs" and look into the results you get.

I received an order for about $500 CAD worth of FW stuff: shaso ralai, 5 XV89, 6 XV81, and 2 chimera turrets.

I had to pay UPS about $75 CAD for duty. So roughly an additional 15%.

This makes sense since tax in Ontario is 13% and that is what duty is.... you are basically paying the taxes you had avoided by buying overseas.

Find a FLGS that sells FW, then ask them to order it on your behalf, in this case you avoid the customs, at least at mine you do.
