U.K.

Looking through the list it is fairly standard for most "competitive" builds but what I don't understand is the single dreadnaught in a pod.

The single Character in an army that can take 2 characters for every 750 pts and the 5 man wolf guard unit. the dread and the wolf guard are going to get mulched as soon as you drop then into the game.

if you want the wolfguard as an elites unit go 10 man squad at least then they will survive the first round of your opponent throwing alot of fire power their way.

and to be fair the same goes for the single dreadnaught. like the idea of it giving you some mobile fire support on the front line but to be realistic you're just giving away a free kill point to the opponent because as soon as it lands he / she will throw everything at it to make sure it can not do harm to their army.

the long fangs and Grey hunters are good solid units but for me this list needs the elites dropping and maybe get a second rune priest being bought in with a Thunder wolf to help out that small unit of cavalry because if you leave just those 3 on their own its going to get messy.

when you look at competitive builds you need to consider redundancies. If your oppoent takes out thing you should have a second to jump into the hole so double up RP's LF's and normally you see at least 4 or 5 units of Grey hunters running around. Me personally I run 5 GH units. 2 with flamers in a pod, 2 with plasma in a pod and 1 with meltas in a pod.

I know a list is more what you want and not what I think you should have but a list like this I don't see doing much damage because of how it is made. 3 full GH and then small special units means that if your opponent is shooty heavy the majority of your guys wont get anywhere near them to do the damage.

and looking at your list what do you have the deal with armour 13/14 unless you plan is to glance it to death with the LF?

DIE already so I can bring you back to life with my necromancer and beat your mates up!

I think this IS a competitive list, but it most definitely is NOT the most competitive list that Lonewolf81 has built.

I sort of agree with this. You should take 2 dreads or none at all. Also consider taking a multimelta instead of an assault cannon.

So actually, you can take 4 characters in any army - not just 2 per 750 points. But that does not mean it's a good idea. Space Wolf characters are expensive. Don't take 2 when 1 will suffice. Lonewolf81 has it correct here.

If you want the wolfguard as an elites unit go 10 man squad ....and to be fair the same goes for the single dreadnaught.
Agreed. My vote would be to ditch the wolf guard and take another dreadnought.

Or even better - just drop the cavalry altogether. It's 250 ish points that's going to die as it is and you could spend that on another unit of Grey Hunters.

Ummm....yeah. I'm pretty sure lonewolf81 knows what he's doing when building SW lists. Yeah - because he's posted identical twins of your list like 2 years ago. My two cents? Do NOT double up on Rune Priests and you have plenty of Long Fangs but you can never have enough Grey Hunters.

That's what the meltaguns are for. But Lokki is basically correct, you should have more meltaguns.

2500 pts
