I won't be able to make it due to scheduling, but I strongly encourage anyone who can to make the trip. Gareth runs a good tournament.

Is there hotels nearby or does the TO have a deal with one of the nearby ones? I am defintely interested in attending this and think I could get some more people in Sacramento to come.

What is the player cap for the tournament? How many have signed up?

7th Edition Tournament Record:

15-2

War in the Mountain GT: Best Overall, 6-0 Dark Eldar

Bugeater GT: 4th, Tournament Runner Up, 5-1 Dark Eldar

Wargamescon: 7th, Best Dark Eldar. 4-1

I think the cap is 40. I'll ping Gareth to have him swing by.

We have no hotel affiliations or recomendations.
We have ~20 of the 40 slots filled.

I would recommend calling Guardian Games on (503) 238-4000 to pre purchase a slot before making travel plans.

No forgeworld, just standard codexes and supplements.

Truly is a lot of fun. I had a blast the last time I went. Guardian Games moved to a newer, bigger location relatively recently. League nights are fairly solid (alas, I haven't been able to partake for a bit in that). Beer plus Warhammer on boards with great terrain, gotta love it!

Last that I heard, there were.

Try Guardian Games at (503) 238-4000. They open around noon today. You can sign up and pre-reg by phone and get yourself locked in.

If I recall from the sign in sheet this weekend, there are less than 10 spots left open.

Any news as to why TOF stopped reporting after round 4 on day 2? I was really enjoying watching the results in real time.

Not sure, from what I heard it just broke and Gareth had to do the rest manually. I'm waiting for Gareth to post the official results. I know someone from Cali took the top spot (or so I was told).

I believe it also went down during the Feast of Blades. I'm really enjoying the site and the app so hopefully they can get the issues resolved soon.

Yeah, probably people keep clicking on it to refresh and we killed the backend. Maybe we should start a separate thread in Tournament Discussions about ToF to see if someone knows what's up?

The event was forced to continue manually after round 4 due to the size of brackets the Guardian Cup guys had set up.

We are of course continuing to develop the software, however it's designed to programatically handle brackets, and when the bracket size and number of rounds don't divide evenly, it caused some unexpected issues.

We will be receiving the results from Gareth in the next day or so, and will have them entered in to ToF.

All other events this past weekend (11th Company GT, Vic Masters, and Fort Kearney) ran very smoothly.

Had a great time at the Guardian Cup this weekend, just wanted to say thanks to Gareth and Guardian Games in Portland (fantastic venue), and to my opponents (Dan, Kris, Steve, Jeff, Ryan, and Kevin). Gareth especially had a hard time herding everyone in the right direction, especially once Torrent of Fire collapsed but for the most part things went well. If I can make some suggestions - put out an FAQ ahead of time for sticky rules bits, just so everyone knows going in what to expect. Also, find a better way of letting everyone know what the game clock is at; in one of my games the first my opponent and I heard about time was that we had 15 minutes left. Those are relatively minor issues though, so thank you again to Gareth and Guardian Games!
