Going to be playing in a new town that I recently moved to, want to bring a decent force.

Comes in at about 2000 pts

Go plan is Huron infiltrates the Spawn (with Biker Champ if possible), Abby and Terms deepstrike, Muti Deepstrikes, and other terms deepstrike, the idea is to give the opponent four high potential targets coming at nearly (with a little luck) the same time

Oblits are for anti air/armor, Abbys terms are kitted out to hit meltas at anything big they can hit

the 2 big squads of CSM are for objectives, Las cannon for a little extra fire support and flamers in case any of them get charged.


The Chosen and Choppy CSMS are used for threats/extra objective holding

So, critique/expectation on how you think it'll work(not looking to run a heldrake)

If I remember rightly, any army that has Abaddon in it, Abaddon MUST be used as the Warlord. So that loses your infiltrate with Huron. Unless there's something I'm missing regarding allies?

If you going to run spawn = run 5 of them and attach the lord on bike, all Nurgle.

If Abaddon is in your primary detachment he must be your warlord and he makes chosen troops.

Using BL allies gets round those as the chosen are troops anyway (stopping chosen being forced back into elites) and Abaddon is in your allies so his warlord trait doesn't come into effect.

Ah ok, wasn't sure if it was "Army" or "Primary Detatchment". Don't have my Codex at work, ignore what I said then

As you're running a nurgle lord, have you considered putting some plague marines in as troops?

The Champion with the axe in the unit to be attached to Huron seems a bit of a waste - he has I5 but will strike last due to unwieldy. He will lose against most challengers, so I'd consider swapping it to a lightning claw or a power sword - at least then you'll probably go first. The only thing he'd have to worry about would be 2+'s and theres no reason to charge them with csms.

Wow, I was expecting a list with quad Heldrakes in and I find none! Though you do really need Heldrakes, they are good for anti air, two should be fine.

I am confused with your warlord, why you added a claw and fist? Just take the fist and mash vehicles and the burning brand instead to burn up infantry.

Flamer and autocannon are a bad match up. Flamer wants to get close while the autocannon wants to stay static. You will be snap firing that autocannon, or if you hold position the flamer won't get used that much. A single flamer isn't that much of a threat for overwatch either. Also seems daft adding mark of slaanesh and then giving the Champion a power axe. Instead give the unit two flamers and the Champion a lightning claw.

All your CSM units are mis-matched. They need sorting the same way.

Mutilator is meh, use the points to boost up the Chaos Spawn numbers, not enough of them there.

I don't really understand why you are going allies as all this can cram into a single list. The extra bit on the Chaos Terminators thanks to Abaddon isn't worth the supplement.

wtf? I know you can ally csm and CD together, but ally csm with csm? it is an interesting way to get a fourth drake. it's also an interesting way to override warlord rules. this would also allow 4 God's and troops unlocked.

Lords must be in Primary to unlock. Also you still have to add VotLW to black legion chosen.

you can also replace abby with a kitted out daemon prince. Have him infiltrate with the Lord and Spawn. I know for reserves purposes IC's count as separate units, but if they are in a unit while it is granted the infiltrate special rule, they should be able to infiltrate too. Kind of like the IC in drop pod debate of whether they count as a percentile in reserves or not... Allies also need VotLW, and if you have a squad of 5 chosen they can all have those big hitting weapons (melta, PG, etc.)

Lists like this don't work anymore. Chaos are no longer spikey marines. You can't build them like SM, and that's what you've done. Here's my input.

Take the fist off the Lord. That's too many points for minimal gain.

CSM are arguably the worst troop choice in the game. You have a nurgle lord. Look into plague marines.

Champions should ALWAYS have a powersword as their melee weapon to give them a better chance to win challanges. You have MoS with an axe. Your MoS is a waste.

I know people like to use mutilators to deep strike and cause minor havoc, but there are so many better things those points can go to.

Termies should on'y be ran 2 ways.
1. deepstrike 3 man, combi-melta/plasma, power mauls. they are vehicle/high toughness hunters.
2. in land raiders
yours is neither of these. they will die quickly. there is too much AP2 on the table.

spawn are fine, although i personally prefer bikers with nurgle. no problem with what you have though.

The black legion supp made abby useless. you can take chosen as troops without him. on that note...

chosen are bad. they suffer from the same leadership/challange problem CSM do.

Trust me. I want a list like this to work just as much as the next chaos guy, but it doesn't. You REALLY need helldrakes. If you refuse to take them, the only viable substitute for their killability (yes that's a word now) is a juggerlord, axe of blind fury, with spawn.

If you don't believe any of my points, then that's perfectly fine. Play the list as is to test if. If you dont' have the models then proxy. Get a feel for how terrible chaos power armor units are and you'll stop running them just like everyone else has. You could also do what i've done. My IWs have become 'counts-as' iron hands.
