Hi I was wondering if eldar jetbike armies are competetive. I was going to run the army with some warp spiders. Any thoughts?

Hi there Chaos Rising. So yeah to start with i think you can make an Eldar Jet-Bike list competitive If you do you probably want to use groups of 6 Jet-Bikes with Shuriken Cannons and also you probably want to include a couple of units of Shining Spears to give you that edge in CC they will also help against your opponents tougher units with their high strength on the charge. Although not Jet-Bikes you probably want to include Vypers to give you a footing with heavy weapons. Lastly for your HQ i always use Farseers but that's just me Autarchs can be just as potent. I'm not sure on Warp Spiders yes they can deep strike and have good weapons but I think if you want to do well with a Jet-Bike list you want to keep it running rings around your opponent with your speed and Warp Spiders will just take points away from getting a good amount of Jet-Bikes and Vypers.

Well, I think it can be quite competitive. I've seen such an army in an RTT with two Wraithknights doing very well.

Did you just say that spiders will slow down the list? You're kidding right? First off, don't deep strike those spiders. Second, they're just as fast as bikes.

I'm working on building a bike army since I've been wanted to for a while. I can only run mechdar for so long. I'm toying with 6, 9, and 10 bikes and haven't figured out which i want yet. They all have their benefits and down sides. The interwebs seems to think 6 is optimal but personally the jury is still out on that.

Vypers can be good, but are generally viewed as not so much. They are, however, the cheapest bright lance you can get. Always get halo fields no matter what to give them 4+ cover.

Not sure how others see it, but I always take a warlock for the squads, even if I get a power i don't like, I can alway swap for primaris and still get a 3+ cover save for the bikes.

I like 2 Farseers because that's a lot of powers.

Sothas, I run 9 bikes with 3 cannons, a Warlock with Spear and a Farseer to boost their morale up. Recently I've built an allied detachment with Baron and he'll go with them as well.

Those 12 model will prove a difficult thing to dislodge for anyone. Even Tau will struggle, as they'll have to focus down the Baron's 2++ which means breathing room for the rest of the list.

Grisly trophies on those DE vehicles will make your warlocks very reliable.
