Tried the search function but came up empty, so:
A year ago I sold off my large collection of space marines, imperial guard, sisters, inquisitors and tyrrannids, mainly because I found they'd taken over every flat surface in the house ( over 100 Russ/Chimera varieties), and, worse, it took 2 hours to set them up on a 8x4 table, which was then full.
Anyway, after a year I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms, and looking around various sites I've come across Scotia Grendels' Kryomek/Nexus models, with a nice line in armoured vehicles.
I'm more interested in modelling & painting than gaming. Anyone used these models, and how do they compare in size with GW stuff? Pics link to SG website, all these have wheeled or hover versions too.
Thoughts?

Let me know if you order from them... I would try to get reviews first. Some models, it's hard to tell the size of from the one small pic on their site, and some models vary in quality.
I've got a number of things I'm thrilled with from Scotia Grendel, but I read reviews and made sure they were the ones people praised first. Because there are definitely some misses there, too.
I'm considering ordering some Kryomek helions, but luckily snagged some off ebay first. The sizes vary dramatically, and there is no way to tell that in the pictures. A few don't even have a picture! But seeing them in-person really helps... it turns out only 2-3 or the 7 different types of packs will work for what I had in mind.

The Nexus stuff is small. More like true 25mm. Here's a thread about it:

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

I've seen the tanks in person. They're large enough to be used with 25mm figures and even 28mm, but only as light armored vehicles. They aren't nearly large enough to be a replacement for any of the current line of GW vehicles.
Here's a pic. The figure is a void fig, which IIRC, is about halfway between the size of Necromunda figures and current GW.
Note that the odd reverse sandy surface of the model is not the paintjob. All the tanks and buildings have it. Oddly, the Strider walkers and the Aliens'ish 6 wheel APC (called that ATAC, I think?) -which are by far the better models in the range- do not have the same rough surface. If you're just looking for some interesting models to work on, the ATAC, Strider Mechs and the vehicles from the VOID game are much higher quality models from Scotia.
More pics of them along side Kryomek figures (similar in size to VOID) here:

One use I considered them for (until I picked up some MK1 Rhinos) was as vehicles for RT squats, but after seeing them in person, I'm glad I decided otherwise.

The void game models are also younger.
I've got several of the storm striders, and a few of the cloud - vehicles (they had a different prefix depending on whether they were wheeled, tracked or hover. Hover was "cloud+x").
They are small compared to GW's CURRENT plastics, but when they were first released, GW really only had the rhinos up against them (and the odd land raider and ork battlewagon). Compared to the old rhinos, they aren't that tiny (buy you'd be hard pressed to explain how x marines could fit into one of the transport ones).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I bought a few, along with some Scotia Grendel white metal accessories. As others have said, they'd work in 40K as light/ recce tanks or similar, for guard at least.
On the plus side they're cheap, service is good ( delivered within days) and they fit with Void or Scotias Nexus marines.
They're also pretty minimal on parts, so very quick to assemble: base (tracks, wheels or hover), hull, turret, is 3 pieces, then add gun/weapon and accessories.
