In anticipation for the new marine codex I've been picking up a handful of marines to convert chaosy but use as standard marines (Too many daemon engines, not enough marines in CSM codex), I have always liked the darker aspects of the chaos marines and the ability h to field a variety of armour patterns/legions/warbands together. I have been rather partial to the WFB chaos lord model since I first saw it so the first conversion was to make up a new Captain for my new force, it was also a great opportunity to test my scheme and see how well it goes without airbrushing this time (I seem to have become overly dependant on my airbrush previously). Here is is complete albeit without Decals for now:

The warband will be called the Hounds of Cerberus, and will feature looted versions of most imperial tech (never got why there arent chaos razorbacks stolen, stormtalons etc).

Soon his foes would learn that the only thing more dangerous than a savage three hundred pound brute is a savage three hundred pound brute with a plan - Ork Codex

Way cool! That is how a Chaos lord should be done!

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

I agree, nice conversion and paintjob. The build works well.

yeh looks really sweet. I have been bordering on a CSM army for my second army for a while Especially with a mix of WHFB chaos models mixed with CSM. the WHFB lords/character models all look way too cool to not be converted into CSM I love the effect on the sword, could you give some details on how you achieved it? is it supposed to be a intended pattern or rust? (copper rusts green - but a copper sword would be pretty poor as a sword ) or to detail a power/force weapon?

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

The sword/spears are meant to be a little glowy in a daemon/spirit/power/frost weapon sense depending on the army, OSL isnt my strong suit so the colour was localised to the blades.

Wish I could take the credit for the spear but the weapon came cast that way, highlighting and shading brought it out better.
