Not a fan of simple green, way too powerful smelling and it doesn't work as good as LA Awesome (IMO).

However, I came across a post today about using Dawn Power Dissolver. Sounds like the person was pretty happy with the results. Has anyone used this?

i've used it, and love it. dropped 9 robed DA vets with 2-3 coats of paint on them, and they just washed right off after an hour or 2. for $3 a bottle at walmart, it's a pretty good buy. i've used the same bottle to strip 2 dreads, 29 marines, and a handfull of imperial guardsmen...

Anyone know how it compares to LA Awesome?

I juat tried Dawn Power Dissolver myself for the first time last night. I've had about two squads worth of marines and some bikes and landspeeder in Simple Green for about two weeks and most of them are plastic, some metal and metal bitz, and they were not only painted but spray primed with a black Testor's spray color. Not a primer. The Simple Green was not taking off the black spray I used as a primer.

I tried one mini last night with the Power Dissolver, fell asleep, came back twelve hours later, and scrubbed it with an electric toothbrush. Most of the paint came off. Even the black sprayed undercoat. I'm going to buy a few bottles today and dump the Simple Green. I want these stripped sooner rather than later, and if I wait on the Simple Green, I'll get lazy and stop painting.

I believe Dawn Power Dissolver to be the same thing as Fairy Power Spray (here in the UK) which I've used many times with great satisfaction. Hasn't let me down so far!

Have you guys noticed any difference using either LA AWesome or Power Dissolver for metal or plastic minis?

Is one better than the other for plastic and/or metal?

Dawn Power Dissolver IS the same (or close enough) to Fairy Power Spray. Do a quick google of the bottles and ingredients if you don't believe me .

Our article about stripping goes into more detail on Fairy Power Spray/Dawn Power Dissolver too - http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Dakka_Modeling_FAQ:_How_to_Strip...#Using_Fairy_Power_Spray_/_Dawn_Power_Dissolver

I've personally used FPS since I discovered it. It never harms plastic, strips like a dream, doesn't require being submersed (just thickly spray it on and seal it up) and seems to take everything off quick as a whistle. It also doesn't turn into a sticky mess on contact with water or stink out the house (looking at you, Dettol), or have any serious safety issues as it's designed for using on dirty dishes. It's still a degreaser though, so don't go crazy . Only thing I will note is that it seems to make Finecast go soft and flexible. Works great on the old Forgeworld resin though (did a FW KoS with it a while back, worked great).
