So I was reading the mantle of the Laughing God rules and I was wondering if you gave an autarch/farseer a jetbike and then mantle would you get a 2+ re rollable cover save? 5+ For jink then shrouding gives +2 to that and then stealth gives +1 to cover. Is it this viable or am I crazy?

A) Rules questions should go in the YMDC subforum. (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/forums/show/15.page)

B) Yes. All that stuff works together (Stealth and Shrouded specifically state that they stack with an existing cover save) and is a common setup for Eldar characters, but is vulnerable to the first Ignores Cover weapon that shows up.

Well, as already said it stacks. Thus it is viable. But as said, watch out for cover-ignoring weapons. Nevertheless, an HQ (on a jetbike) with a mantle is fun to play.

Yes. I have only played a few games with my eldar under 6th edition, and I experimented with a farseer using that setup. Unfortunately he was killed in the 1st turn twice - my opponent had hive guard (S8 ignore cover, and I failed a 3+armour save for instant death), then the doom of malantai took him out with a lucky roll (it was an apoc game, he dropped in on the 1st turn before I could get moving for the good cover save). Besides those hiccups I found it a very useful way of protecting my farseer, it doesn't limit his powers like being in a wave serpent.

Essentially I think it is a good option for a farseer if you run a mech list. In a bike or foot-based list, it is probably still better to save the 40pts and just have him in a squad. I have not yet tried an assault autarch with that kit. Whichever character you use it with, just watch out for cover ignoring weapons, and keep it away from powerful enemy charges.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts
