I have it on my kindle fire hd, it's free and makes army lists insanely easy to build, best app I have ever installed.

Aslong you can get the latest updates for the armies sure go ahead use it, but do keep in mind some stuff can be out of the line... like in the Black templar, it says thunder hammer for 1p I use it myself and it's quite handy to use to make quick lists and so on.

It's good for some armies, but others the point values are way off. It claims the GK psilencer is 40 points when it clearly isn't anything close to that.

I use it for my 6e DA army, and it works very well, have yet to see a point value be wrong.
My friend uses it for his CSM and DE armies and says it works quite well

I've got it on my android phone, I think I liked army builder on the desktop a little better overall, but even the paid version of battlescribe is cheaper than a license for that, and its really handy having it on my phone.

My favourite app to use, it makes life so much easier when making lists, although the phone app can be quite slow at times. The desktop version is great, you can print off army lists and include the rules and stat lines for the units. Saves having to flick through your codex.

It;s great on a tablet but as others said you should check the points values. For Daemons it was off by 10 pts for a disk of tzeentch upgrade on the heralds.

The app is certainly no replacement for a codex and knowledge of your army but It sure makes putting together lists easy and quick.
A mate of mine and I often have no idea what kind of game or point limit we are going to use until just before the game so having an app that I can use to slam together a list is great.

Army builder gave you too much information, I kind of wonder how many people printed out AB lists and just 'got by' without actually owning the codex. I like the lean-ness of battle scribe... gotta know your stuff!

And having a digital version of your codex (legit, or otherwise) alongside battlescribe on your phone? Now that's just cool

It would be even better if you could somehow hyperlink the references to the codex to a digital copy on the same device.

When you print your list most of the special rules are printed at the bottom for quick reference...at least for daemons. It helps a ton with ask the extra rolling we have to do.

It'll output rules and stat lines, assuming the data file author has entered them (I don't make the data myself since I got an email from GW's legal department...).

The files can have errors in them (transcribing 200 stat lines makes it easy to make mistakes!). Couple of things you can do about it:

  1) Notify the author so they can fix it (most of the Randomhit ones have a forum thread you can report errors in)

  2) The desktop version has the file editors with it - they aren't tough to use - Fixing points errors and adding rule descriptions is easy

 Hope that helps
