I got a decent sized ork army at home. I didn't bring it with me when I went to study abroad so I am building a new army and hope to merge them when I come back home.
Well building a 1k ork list. I want to make a shooty list with my favourite models. I know shooting army is less optimal but I want to try to make a decent one. I just love the meganob, walkers and the ork flyer models. Well here Comes the list:

Big Mek, Kustom force Field 85

Deff Dread, Extra Dclose combat weapon, Skorcha 95

20 Shoota boys, nob, bosspole 135

3 Killa Kans, all grotzooka 135

10 Gretchins, Runetherd 40

Dakkajet, +1 super shoota, Fighter Ace 130

Burna Boomer, 2x Skorcha missiles 145

3 Mega armoured nobs 120

Total 885pts

What else to put in? Transport for Meganobs?

In my opinion, if you want a "shooty" list, I'd drop the Deff Dread in favor of more boys. Also, I'd bring a transport for the Meganobs, as they are going to be slow to get anywhere without it. Otherwise, I like the list. Grotzookas are excellent, and you can never go wrong with a Dakkajet. However, if you want to stick to a shooty list, Lootas would be a great addition for more dakka.

Lootas are a definate must for a dakka list, also maybe drop the burna bomber for another dakkajet, as much fun as it is to watch 145 points just dive bomb into an enemy unit, dakkajets I find are far superior! Add some big shootas in the boys mob.

Also maybe drop the KFF for a SAG and sit it near the back with a unit of lootas. Also yeah, drop the deff dread for more boys.

Your going to be disappoint with the walkers sadly. GZ are nice but rarely live long enough to fire, let alone the deff dread.

MANz certainly need a ride, they're super slow and useless on foot!

Lootas and Big Gun batteries are where its at. And your wrong about shooty Orks, they're sadly the strongest Orks around.

have you thought about an aegis defense line?

i think its pretty much a must for ork shooty armies lootas and big guns work perfectly with an aegis defence line, also even in a 1000pt game its not too many points too ask for
