Good afternoon Dakka Folks. After painting lots of armies to sell I have finally decided to paint an army of my own. I decided on Imperial Fists about a month ago and luckily a new codex is coming out. Most everything I have so far I is from ebay or a swap meet. I hope everyone enjoys the log!

So this is what I have so far:

I'm also looking for any suggestions, ideas, or constructive crit. I am hoping to have about 3000 points so I can take part in apocalypse battles.

I also decided to paint power weapons instead of keeping them silver. Not sure that I'm in love with them. I might do lightening effects instead.

Got a terminator librarian done. Milling out the head kind of sucked but I like how the helmet turned out.

Wooaa, it's always impressive to see so much yellow.

The helmet of your troops looks awesome. It's very different from the usual SM helmet and the white faceplate really catches your eyes. Reminds me a bit of SoB's helmets too!

The blue spot color for the purity seals was also a nice touch.

Stuff that I think could use some improvement: The yellow. I think some of your model's yellow look a bit flat. Maybe Agrax Earthshade / the yellow shade and attempt to build up the color again, leaving the dark recesses? I understand yellow is an infuriating color to work with. Oh, also, try to use even lighter layers of white. Some of the helmets have some brush strokes. Again, white is another infuriating color to work with, I applaud your courage!

Either way, keep up the good work

Thanks TDL! I am still struggling with both the yellow and the white. Thanks for the recommendation on layering the white. I think you are right on the yellow as well ... Going to keep working on it.

As an update, here are the first 5 terminators

Once I figured out it was possible I had no choice but to give the tac squad sergeant a thunder hammer.

I agree with TDL. Maybe if you water down the yellow and whites and do more layers to Build it up it will come out nice and flat. The paint looks a little thick.

Other than that, LONG LIVE THE SONS OF DORN!!!

Got another rhino and a drop pod painted. I ordered some missile launchers from anvil industries so next update will likely be 2 missile dev squads. Unless it takes a few weeks for shipping. If that happens I may be painting another rhino or the thunderfire cannon. As always, thanks for checking out the fists.

Already a force I would be delighted to see on a table! Painted armies really add so much to the overall fun-factor!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks TDL! I tend not to play with unpainted models if I can help it.

Almost finished with the Thunderfire Cannon. Need to figure out how I want to put the fist on his shoulder pad. Also have incoming FW vehicle accessory fists to out on the Cannon itself.

Still deciding if I want to swap the head or not. He has such a cool helmet, but right now it doesn't match everything else.
