OK I hate the current Daemon prince, and Greater Daemon models. I know about Ultraforge and I have the Vrok. What else is there?

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. I use the Forge World Great Uclean One (as a GUO...derrrr), the Ultraforge Greater War daemon (as a Bloodthirster), and I converted my own Lord of Change (use him as Kairos) from an assortment of parts.
Spoiler:

I'm currently trying to figure out what to use as a Keeper of Secrets. Thinking of building it off the beast men Ghorgon model, but we'll see.

The biggest thing that bugs me about the GW models is that they are absolutely tiny. The finecast Bloodthirster is smaller then the plastic Daemon Prince

How big are those reaper minis? Some of those guys look like they'd be great chaos spawn. However, none of them appear to be in the price range I'd expect for a greater daemon size model.

Some are fair-sized.

A lot of Reaper stuff is Bones these days, which makes them pretty cheap. I use their Great Worm model as Spawn

They stand about 7-8 CM i think. Pretty biggish.

The forgeworld versions for the GUO, BT, LoC, and KoS are all pretty sweet if pricey.

They're overly priced. Yeah.
The Ultraforge are similar size and detail and are $60 bucks a pop. This is why I'm looking for alternatives.

Here's a list on Throne of Skulls of 3rd party models. That should do it for you.

For the KOS I'd probably recomend the FW models.

and I agree the design teams need some new models.

Non FW count-as models will always have an issue with legality in tournaments sadly. Thats why i usually avoid using other models even though im an ork player and people do it all the time lol.

And yea the sculpt is ancient as hell. They should make a miniature model of this thing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=EvVNtEL6HGQ

If they managed to scale this to current Demon Prince scale and keep the detail though, i imagine it would cost like 90+ lol

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

I've heard a few times of people using the LOTR Balrog model as a Bloodthirster stand-in. With a little work it makes a decent Daemon Prince too, as shown here:

As you can see, it's also roughly the right size too.

Yeah, and that would work even in a tourny since its still GW bitz lol rules dont specify "which game" the GW bitz came from

Though its 60USD sadly lol

They're also at least 2 times larger than the regular models, probably more. Giving your opponent more body for more line of sight might be counter intuitive.

Here's An'ggrath the Unbound (because that's the only proper way to run him) and two regular Bloodthristers.

Space Wolves: 3770

His argument that the Ultraforge are 2/7 the price and the same size and similar detail is pretty good.

None of the two other guys in my quote train even mentioned Ultraforge.

WHFB Beastman Minotaurs work well. Still GW models, you can add wings from the DP or a set off of the Vargheist? kit. First is a Fateweaver "counts as" for my Beastman/Daemon army from the Minotaur kit, the second is a Bloodthirster "counts as" from a Beastman Doombull.
