hello everyone, new to forum and getting back into 40k a little after a very lengthy time away (think last time i played we were in 4th or 5th edition) any way im a little confused here on the GW website it has two products for two different prices one is the massive $75 rule book that i was expecting to see the other is a smaller book for around $50 called warhammer 40,000 the rules. so my question is dose the $50 book actually have all the rules so i dont have to buy the big book as well or is it more of a supplement book?

The cheaper one is the same is the larger one but it doesnt have the hobby or fluff sections.

Tha'd be the starter set rule book, which is exactly what it says on the tin. It's the rules with all the extra fuff, painting stuff, and other extras stripped out.

Excellent thank you guys, not really getting back into the playing side again anytime soon. I have missed the building and painting though. It's good to know when the time comes that i can get a cheaper book.

You can get something like the smaller book for about £5 on ebay.

Well you can always get the Dark Vegence box set if you are getting back in and if you want those minis. You get a small rule book in there as well.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Neither the 50 or 75 dollar are overly practical to carry around. I'd just get the full priced rule book as the fluff, gallery, and hobby sections are worth the $25 extra.
