Shrieking Traitor Sentinel Pilot

Evening, Dakkites. Dakkazens. Dakka...Evening, all.
I've been playing around with CSM for a few years now, and thoroughly enjoy the army. Being more of a modeler/painter than a gamer, I've found endless joy in the twisted personality and conversion potential throughout having a Chaos army. However, I'm scheduled to depart on a government-sponsored tour of the desert soon, and when I come back I want to embark on a new project.
Can anyone recommend a 40k army (or even a WHFB army. I like new things) that might offer the same individuality and personalization as CSM? Thanks in advance
Carry on.

Personalisation? Well, I'm no expert on WHFB, but I can recommend Orks. They are one of the most convertible armies you can come across, with endless bits to mix and match, and plenty of sculpting opportunities - no Ork need never look the same!
Whichever army you choose, be sure to send some pictures like your Cultist conventions

It seems like the new SM dex will give you tons of options. Come up with a homebrew chapter and play them however you like (including using the BA, DA, and SW dex). You will never get bored, trust me.

Appreciate the input, guys. The Orks are looking like a possibility, hadn't really considered them before as they seemed a little, well, corny. Then again, maybe that's a challenge...
The new SM dex does look all manner of amazing, just not sure if I want to jump back into painting evermore power armor just yet.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I decided I'll settle this by doing one of each of the race's iconic units, and seeing which one speaks to me while it's underway.
Ork Warboss, Space Marine Librarian, Necron Lord, etc. Open to any suggestions in this field, if you can think of a single iconic model for a given race.

Daemons might be worth a look into. There won't be *that* much you could feasibly pull off with the units as they'd need to look alike enough to be able to identify on a unit-by-unit basis, but the big nasties you can REALLY go to town on. That, and there's the benefit of allying them with your existing CSM as well.
For what it's worth, I believe the correct term is "dakkanauts".

Daemons might be the way to go. Not only are they great for painting (all dem bright colourz! ), but they will make good allies for your CSM on the tabletop. I'd still pick Orks, but it depends whether you care about an ally of convenience or a battle brother

If you want personalisation, i recommend space wolves highly, tons of fun creating your own wolf lords and Rune Priests.

...or, y'know, Daemon Flamers. Clue's in the name there too. Pink Horrors, too.
Not that I'm saying Orks are a bad choice, at all. Just playing devil's advocate.
