Somewhere in the course of reading space marine threads, someone made the comment that rolling the Black Templars into the space marine codex would "open up a slot for another army." Now, this is based on the assumption that GW has a fixed number of army slots available, and that if they had wanted to make a new army/race prior to this they would have just sighed at the impossibility, but let's say it's true.

What new army or race would you like to see roll up in 40k? What kind of tactical positions do you feel are currently unfulfilled? What kind of gameplay would you like to see? What do you feel is lacking now?
