So, this thread was just started up in the warhammer 40k forum. But it's not about 40k. It's about forgeworld's separate horus heresy game. Needless to say, despite being outwardly similar, there's no sense in it being in a 40k forum. On the one hand, very, very few people who play 40k also play 30k, so it's a bad place for 30k players to get advice, but it's also irrelevant to the 40k players, for whom rules relating to 30k don't apply.

This isn't the first thread I've seen about 30k, and while the number of threads is small, it does seem to be growing. If the increasing number of 30k minis in the painting forums is indicative of a trend, we're probably going to see more of this in increasing frequency.

Enough to start a 30k forum? In the meantime, where to 30k players go?

Forgeworld don't make a 'Horus Heresy game'. The Horus Heresy is a supplement for 40K. It is no more a separate game than Apocalypse or Cities of Death. It's just a slightly different way to play 40K.

So threads on the Horus Heresy belong in the 40K section just as much as threads for any other supplement.

The Horus Heresy isn't a separate game. It's using the same rule book and it's lists can be used in 40k. The only real difference is the fact that it's been balanced to play against other Heresy-Era armies, so it can generally outmatch armies from the 40k-era lists.

I agree completely with the above. HH needs it's own forum about as much as Vraks did. It's still the exact same game but simply with a moderately different setting that excludes most codicies (thus additionally limiting the number of players who would actually post there). I don't think anyone would have an issue with an ongoing HH set of threads though similar to what X-wing had and Robotech has currently (but within the general 40k set of forums).

Yeah, 30k is 40k just as FW, Apoc, planet strike, etc so on are all 40k. Just different ways to play the same thing.
