Hi,

Assume i have a unit, with Rune Priest inside. Can i use Jaws with my own unit models standing in the way? If yes, what happens to them?

All best.

You can use It with your own models standing in the way. Although thy will have to suffer the effects same as anything else that's hit (unless its a vehicle) I.e. take initiative test

Going off memory here so please forgive me if something is slightly incorrect.

JotWW draws a line starting at the base of the RP.
The first unit the line affects is the target unit.
JotWW can affect friendly models.
You cannot target friendly models with a Witchfire power.
If you cannot draw a line from the base of the RP without first hitting a friendly model, you cannot draw the line.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

That was true in the 5th ed. If i understand FAQ , in the 6th ed it works as Yetii said.

SW FAQ wrote:Q: Does Jaws of the World Wolf require line of sight? Does it ignore terrain that blocks line of sight (i.e., impassable terrain)? (p37)
A: As a psychic shooting attack, Jaws of the World Wolf requires line of sight. The Rune Priest must have line of sight to the first model that the power affects – in effect he is treated as the target model; the power just happens to hit everybody else on its way through!

The underlined tells us what the target is for the power. Which means you cannot have the unit fire at a unit to the right while the RP uses JotWW to the left, the unit would be targeting two different units. For the same reason you cannot draw the line if it hits a friendly model first as you cannot target friendly models.

You cannot have a friendly model under the line as the 1st model effected. Yetti is wrong, you have no permission to target your own models with shooting attacks and Jaws says the 1st model.

Also it's very easy to move models in a unit with the RP in the movement phase to get a clear shot at the models you want to hit with Jaws. It's not like this is going to be a massive game changer for the OP.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.
