Hey guys,

I have a question regarding the Army of Parade - style display board. I'm interested in making one as a convenient/cool way of storing/displaying my marine army.

Is there a special way peple affix the models the board so they don't shift around much? My models are on cork bases. I was thinking of drilling indentations into the realm of battle board so they can fit it nicely and avoid them moving around when moving the board.

What about magnets? Is it possible to get enough magetic strength by lining the bottom of the board with a metal sheet and gluing magnets to the bases of the models?

Any best known practices would be great, Thanks!

A magnets strength is seriously weakened by distance, the thickness of pretty much any board that is strong enough to not flex will render foil ineffective.

While I magnetized all my bases so far and transport my minis on metal sheets stuck inside plastic boxes, I don't think you can pull of something that is practical and looks sexy enough as an army on parade plate unless you use flat surfaces out of sheet metal on it.

Note that there are two ways to go for transporting your models with magents. Either you stick magnets or magnet foil under the minis and place them on metal sheets - or - you stick metal washers or whatever else you can find in the right size under your minis and place them on magnetic foils.

The second is pretty much guaranteed to be easier, since washers happen to be round already, so no cutting/sizing is needed and are way cheap.

Magnetic display boards are very possible, just put tin under where your going to place the models and put the magnet on the base. Than make sure your models fit the basing in the spots they go in.
